ARC Autumn Gold

Autumn Gold is ARC’s biggest fund-raising event of the year. This year’s theme was “A Gold Medal Performance” and it was to dedicate a new gymnasium and celebrate four outstanding athletes and coaches from American River College.

This project had a couple of interesting issues.

First, the school’s color scheme for it’s athletic’s program is a very intense red and blue. The problem with this is that everything is red and blue – and after a while it’s just too much. What can we do about the color?

Second, there were lots of sports images, but it was quite a mix; Color and grayscale, good and bad quality, high- and lo-res, some very old prints, etc. How do you take this many disparate images and pull them together?

Here’s the final solution, in an 18″ x 24″ poster:

We also produced a postcard, invites, tickets and various other items – all carried the same look and feel.
